Design

Chloride Harath’s battery experts are always on-hand to give advice on all aspects of battery design and care for a wide range of applications including UPS sytems, diesel generators, emergency lighting units and many other systems that require batteries. We will work with you to assess your specific requirements in each case, offering the solution that best suits your needs.

Within the battery design package we will investigate which form of battery accommodation is best suited to your situation, be that cubicles or racks, open or cladded. All health and safety issues will be considered and addressed. This could involve the inclusion of battery isolators, fuse transition boxes, switch tripping breakers and fuse boxes into the design, along with volt-free or auxiliary contacts to raise the alarm should a fault develop. Installation

Chloride Harath can give you the level of battery installation service that you require, be that a basic supply only service, or a fully project managed complete installation (including DC cabling and any required UPS software adjustments). Back to top

Maintenance

In order to maintain maximum uptime and protect your investment, regular inspections of your batteries are advised from Chloride Harath’s skilled team of technicians.

These service checks include:

• Environmental checks – ambient temperature of battery room
• Cleanliness of equipment
• Condition of battery cabinets
• Detailed examination of individual cells – post and interconnector corrosion
• Voltage readings – cell and string voltages
• Measurement of internal cell resistance, impedance or conductance
• Individual battery load test – discharge test, site load and/or load banks
• Thermal imaging, specific gravity tests and level checking (wet batteries only) with top up if required.

Replacement

Chloride Harath offers a battery replacement programme for customers with any form of battery supported products. These include, AC UPS, DC equipment, emergency lighting units and generator starting batteries. Our dedicated battery team works closely with our approved supply chain partners and will assess your specific requirements, creating a replacement programme incorporating batteries of suitable type, lifespan and performance characteristics and a swap-out schedule that minimises the disruption to your business. Using this service will protect your battery supported equipment from relying on inadequate batteries and minimise the associated failures. Back to top

Disposal

All battery maintenance and replacement work is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements and all disposal is managed in line with the Environment Agency approved waste disposal service (ACE/110253) with full COSHH registration. Back to top

Chloride Harath can also supply charging systems for the many of the battery applications listed above. Our experience has shown many generator applications operate with undersized charging systems.
