Three Chloride 90-NET 500 kVA UPS modules have been installed at the first new data centre on the site of the DVLA headquarters. Working in modular parallel redundant mode these have been selected with 20 minute batteries to match the load requirements and interface with the existing systems. The Agency’s second new data centre has the same 90-NET 500 kVA UPS units, but here Chloride has also supplied a new 2.5 MVA prime rated diesel generator system, complete with 24,000 litre capacity bunded bulk fuel tank. Due to space restrictions this system has been custom-designed to fit into a 12 metre enclosure. Ian Hirst, Chloride projects manager commented, “Our expertise as specialists in the design and selection of UPS and diesel generators, enabled us to work closely with the consultant, WSP, and Lorne Stewart to determine the optimum critical power protection solutions for both sites.” Both the UPS and generator systems can be linked to Chloride’s LIFE.net remote monitoring and diagnostics system. | |
