Chloride goes green: Green Office Day 10 June 2010

Green Office Day 10 June 2010

Chloride, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and services, celebrates Green Office Day 2010. The initiative aims at encouraging Chloride staff, suppliers and clients to follow its lead on reducing environmental impact.

The theme of this year's Green Office Day is recycling, in particular, finding new ways to reduce and reuse the waste that is produced in the workplace.

Chloride offices and factories across the world have organised symbolic events to mark the day. Everything from planting trees, turning off lights and using recycled materials, to providing advice on making long-term environmentally friendly changes, not just at work but also at home and in the community.

The company has long taken measures to reduce environmental impact and ensuring that all its products meet environmental regulations in the countries where they are installed. Chloride is also dedicated to ensuring that its new products are progressively more energy efficient.

Chloride is proud to have been the first to sign the Code of Conduct on Energy Efficiency and quality of AC UPS Systems, with the aim of minimising UPS energy consumption whilst increasing efficiency levels.

Chloride further confirms its environmental commitment by voluntarily meeting and anticipating the standards, relating to waste collection and recycling, that are specified in the WEEE Directive (2002/96/EEC “Waste of Electrical & Electronic Equipment”).
